Last Friday nearly 200 members of the CGI team braved the cold and wind to participate in the first ever ONETeam Moves 5K Walk/Run at our global headquarters in Oak Brook.

The event was a wellbeing initiative with local partner, Live Grit, who facilitated the race day logistics and coordinated a several-week training program that helped participants reach their goals.

“Wellbeing is something that’s very important to me, and it’s becoming a fundamental piece of our CGI culture,” said CGI CEO JoAnna Sohovich. “We want people to know that wellbeing is something that can be a part of everyone’s lives. We’re very pleased by how many people took advantage of this event as an opportunity to get moving!”

All proceeds from the registration process benefitted local Chicago charity, Chicago Run, an organization that promotes the health and wellness of Chicago children through innovative, engaging, and sustainable youth running programs. Together, with a dollar-to-dollar match from CGI, we made a donation of $6,300 to help benefit their programs.

“Obviously running and being active is a critical part of our mission,” said Alicia Gonzalez, Executive Director for Chicago Run. “This was such a unique event for us to partner with, and we’re very grateful for what Chamberlain Group was able to contribute.”

“I’m very proud that our team was able to make a difference for an organization focused on issues impacting children,” said Naomi Saladin, CGI’s Chief Human Resources Officer. “We work with charitable partners that have a positive influence on children’s lives, so partnering with Chicago Run was a tremendous complement to this wellbeing event.”
