CGI’s Investment in Tucson Reaffirms Commitment to Community
Tucson, AZ, August 21, 2018 – Chamberlain Group (CGI), a global leader in access control solutions, parent company to Chamberlain and LiftMaster, and leading the smart home integration market with its myQ®-enabled products, joined by Mayor Rothschild, celebrated the opening of its latest state-of-the-art distribution center custom-built by East Group Properties today.
The 300,000 square foot facility has been constructed on a site that allows for the flexibility of another 100,000 square feet of future expansion. “Expanding our distribution center will enable us to continue providing the exceptional service our partners, customers and end-users have come to expect, ” said Jeff Stewart, Executive Vice President of Operations and Supply Chain for CGI.
The new facility will boast some very impactful upgrades and designed with eco-friendly features in mind: new all electric forklift fleet with state-of-the-art safety; sustainable LED lighting; insulated ceiling; fully secured campus for employee and partner safety; C-TPAT Tier 3 standards; new racking and safety barriers; a new floor scrubber; and new high-output coolers and larger fans for better air circulation.
Additionally, the new location is within walking distance of CGI’s Technical Support Center which together with the distribution center employs nearly 400 local Tucson professionals. This new distribution center will allow for streamlined process and convenience that better serve our employees. “Safety and quality are key values of our business and were the driving forces behind the redesign. This new distribution center further solidifies Chamberlain Group’s commitment to our employees and to Tucson and the surrounding community,” said JoAnna Sohovich, Chief Executive Officer of Chamberlain Group. The Tucson location is the largest of CGI’s seven North American distribution centers, accommodating shipments of all product categories—from garage door openers to commercial door and gate.
