
Jim Trainor is Senior Vice President and General Manager of Chamberlain Group’s Automotive Business Unit. He developed and launched the company’s first automotive product, ARQ™, in 2016 and received Chamberlain Group’s first automotive award for ARQ™ with Nissan that same year, launching in 2017. He is responsible for all aspects of the automotive-based connectivity activities for the company.

Previously, Jim was a member of Johnson Controls’ Executive Leadership Team responsible for the sale of the Johnson Controls HomeLink business to Gentex in 2013 for $700M.
He joined Johnson Controls in 1995 to lead the launch of the HomeLink product
which grew in sales of approximately 120K units in 1995 to over 8M annually at time of divestiture. That HomeLink product contributed approximately $1B EBITA over 17 years at Johnson Controls.
Jim holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Illinois State University.
Jim lives in Chicago, Illinois, and has two grown daughters, Christina, a teacher living in Las Vegas, Nevada, and Alexis, also living in Chicago and two grandchildren (twins). He is an avid Cubs fan and enjoys spending time on the beaches of North Carolina.
