Oak Brook , Ill., April 11, 2023 – Chamberlain Group (CG), a global leader in access control solutions with its LiftMaster® and Chamberlain® brands and myQ® smart technology that boasts 9M+ connected users, was honored with the Resilience Award from the Greater Oak Brook Chamber of Commerce. The honor highlights the company’s unparalleled support of the 6,000 plus worldwide employees through the COVID-19 pandemic and ability to persevere and grow as a business while facing unprecedented circumstances.

“Chamberlain Group is a growing company that continues to invest in itself and its people. This was true prior to the pandemic and remains true today,” said Jeff Meredith, CEO, Chamberlain Group. “While the pandemic threw a major curveball that initially impacted our ability to serve our customers, our ONETEAM’s resilience allowed us to meet the unexpected increase in demand in our products and services.”

By prioritizing the safety and wellbeing of employees, CG was able to maintain business continuity throughout the pandemic. Being agile and able to adopt hybrid work policies greatly helped the company’s ability to support employees who in turn were able to continue serving customers. In addition to implementing comprehensive safety protocols that allowed operations to continue, updated flexible work location policies enabled staff to continue serving customers from remote offices.

“When we were confident our employees were supported and safe, we could turn our full attention toward fulfilling our customers’ rapidly growing smart garage needs who were stuck at home and making the upgrade to smart garages over quarantine,” said Meredith.

U.S. homeowners led a healthy remodeling boom during the pandemic which led to CG growing a few percentage points in the first year of the pandemic. The ONETEAM’s agility and ingenuity allowed for products to be made, delivered and supported with breakneck speed post quarantines. Notably, CG devised a solution for the customer support call centers to take customer calls remotely. The support teams answered a staggering 652,000 service calls remotely. Additionally, after the company’s manufacturing facility reopened after five down weeks, production teams switched to two shifts of 24-hour operation that provided employee safety and the capability to recover lost supply and eventually meet up with increased demand.
